The Chicago Federal Reserve serves the 7th Federal Reserve District, which includes much of the midwest. Congress created the Federal Reserve System in 1913, charging it with the responsibility to create a sound banking system and a healthy economy. To accomplish this mission today, the Fed serves as the government's bank, the regulator of financial institutions, and money manager to the US, performing a vast array of functions that affect the economy, and ultimately, all of us.
It was an honor to work on crafting the face of a brand with such a storied legacy. We took a very complex, history-filled seal, and reimagined it. Our goal was to modernize and update the artwork used to "brand" the Bank of Chicago. Our redesigned seal was delivered to the Chicago Fed's in-house creative team for use on letterhead, signage, and all official business papers.
